There's good news regarding two injured Mets players as manager Carlos Mendoza gave an update on LHP Sean Manaea and OF Jose Siri.
Manaea (right oblique strain) is scheduled to throw another live bullpen session on Thursday, a little more than a week after throwing one last Wednesday.
Mendoza added that Siri (fractured tibia) will be one of the hitters the left-hander faces.
Speaking of Siri, the outfielder "continues his running progression" although he's still just running in a straight line and has yet to mix in running side to side. Still, things are going well for Siri who has been out since April 12.
"He took BP on the field yesterday, but the fact that now he’s gonna start facing some live pitching, that’s good," Mendoza said.
As for another injured player, OF/DH Jesse Winker (Grade 2 oblique strain) is still shut down. The skipper said that Winker is "doing a little bit of running" but that he is still "a ways away before he starts grabbing a bat."
