'Merry Christmas' box office Day 6: Katrina, Vijay's film mints Rs 13 crore in India

Katrina Kaif and Mahesh Babu's 'Merry Christmas' is doing steady business at the box office. The film, helmed by director Sriram Raghavan, has been holding strong in theatres due to positive word of mouth. Going by the trade reports, the film is now marching towards Rs 20 crore net in India. It is to be seen if 'Merry Christmas' will pick up some momentum during the weekend, which will determine the longevity of its theatrical run.

'MERRY CHRISTMAS' HOLDS STEADY AT THE BOX OFFICE

'Merry Christmas, directed by Sriram Raghavan, hit theatres on January 12. The film was simultaneously shot in Tamil and Hindi.

The mystery thriller started on a slow note and has been performing well due to positive word of mouth. On January 17, 'Merry Christmas' is said to have earned Rs 1.15 crore net in India. As reported earlier, the film has been receiving positive reviews from critics and audiences alike.

The six-day total tally now stands up to Rs 13.83 crore net at the domestic box office. On January 17, the Hindi version of the film recorded an occupancy of 9.30 per cent.

The film features Vijay Sethupathi, Katrina Kaif, Sanjay Kapoor and Radhika Apte amongst others. It is bankrolled by Ramesh Taurani, Sanjay Routray, Jaya Taurani and Kewal Garg.
