MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A Manhattan hospital paused some surgeries Friday morning due to the global Microsoft outage, health officials announced.
Surgeries that require anesthesia were paused at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The hospital cited it's experiencing system issues as Microsoft and cybersecurity firm CloudStrike work on a fix.
"We are in the process of calling patients with appointments that are affected. If you have not been notified, please proceed to your scheduled appointment," the hospital wrote on its website.
New York City services are running smoothly for the most part, officials said. Emergency operations, like 911, were up and running.
