Median rent at $3,700 in NYC, but more rentals available: StreetEasy

NEW YORK (PIX11) – The median rent in New York City is now $3,700, the highest since last September, according to StreetEasy.

Available rentals are also increasing. There were over 30,000 rentals on the market in April, which is a 4.7% increase from last year, according to StreetEasy.

How to find a no-fee or rent-stabilized apartment in New York City

Mott Haven in the Bronx has the biggest increase in available rentals. Greenpoint in Brooklyn and Astoria in Queens also have the biggest increases in rentals in their boroughs.

A new development along the waterfront in Brooklyn and Queens is driving those numbers, according to rental experts.
