Insomniac
Games has announced that the upcoming game update for
Spider-Man 2
will be released in early 2024. In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Insomniac acknowledged that players have been eagerly waiting for new features, which should drop with Game+ update. However, the developer says that the team needs more time to fine-tune the update before making it available to the players, and thus it is targeting an early 2024 release.
"We have been working vigilantly on these features and require more testing to ensure the quality is up to our standards," Insomniac Games wrote in the statement.
"We are now targeting Early 2024 for the next game update and we'll have a feature-complete list closer to its release."
The developers have hinted that the upcoming update for
Spider-Man
2 on PS5 will include more than just New Game+. The update will introduce several fan-requested features, such as the ability to change the time of day in the city, swap tendril colours when using symbiote powers, and replay specific missions. According to the studio, these features are just some of what they have planned for the game's future updates.
