MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Looking to erase your ex this Valentine's Day week? Inked Tattoo Parlor in Chelsea is offering a limited number of free tattoo coverups.
"Ink Twice," the campaign run by Tinder, is for singles who have tattoos inspired by their former significant others.
New data gathered by Tinder finds that 52% of singles with tattoos would like to cover up or remove ink they’ve gotten for a former significant other and another 43% say dating someone with an ex-inspired tattoo is a dealbreaker.
Joey P, a tattoo artist at Inked, tells PIX 11 News that it's very common for people to cover up tattoos. Joay also said he tries to talk people out of getting a lover's name inked on their bodies in the first place.
"We believe it's kind of bad luck, so if I can deter them into getting something simplified, or a symbol that signifies their mate, then that would be much better than a name," he said.
The last day to apply for a free tattoo coverup is Friday, and the winners will be chosen on Tuesday.
