MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) -- A new job can change your life, and a Midtown Manhattan-based nonprofit called Bottomless Closet is helping but desperately needs professional purses to complete the interview outfits for women in need.
Rosalyn Chukwudi, 34, from the Bronx, is getting ready for an interview to become a real estate agent. Her dream job. She needs the perfect interview outfit.
Chukwidi said the perfect interview outfit gives her confidence, and the perfect work purse makes it all come together.
She’s just one of thousands of clients who need help getting clothes and preparing for their job interviews.
That’s where Bottomless Closet comes in. Melissa Norden is the executive director.
The nonprofit has helped almost 50,000 New York City women since 1999. The organization provides women with free wardrobes to help them land new jobs and gives them access to free career training programs and other services to lift them out of poverty.
Norden said they are in desperate need of handbags like these for women in need—specifically seeking tote-style bags that can accommodate resume folders.
If you have a handbag to donate, you can give it Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1 West 34th Street, 5th floor. Click here for more information on donating.
