Mumbai Police has enhanced security measures for veteran industrialist Ratan Tata after a threat call was received. The anonymous caller warned Tata would face a fate similar to the demise of former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry in a car crash that happened on September 4, 2022.

The police traced the caller, identified as an MBA holder from Pune who suffers from schizophrenia, to a location in Karnataka. The police found the location with the help of technical and telecom service providers.

Upon reaching the caller's residence, they discovered that he had been missing for the past five days. His wife had filed a missing complaint with the police.

After preliminary enquiries, the police learned that the caller had been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Despite the initial threat, the police decided against pursuing legal action, opting for a compassionate approach due to the caller's mental health condition.
