Man to appear in court in shooting of boy, 8, in the Bronx

MOTT HAVEN, The Bronx (PIX11) – A man will be appearing in court Thursday after he allegedly shot an 8-year-old boy in the Bronx last September.

Joshua Brooks, 27, faces charges including attempted murder.

A stray bullet struck the child as he exited a school bus on Beekman Avenue in Mott Haven, according to investigators.

The victim's mother told PIX11 News that the stray bullet missed an artery in her son's thigh and he was expected to make a full recovery.
