Man sprays man with unknown substance, causing burning to face in Manhattan: NYPD

MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – Police are searching for a man accused of spraying another man with an unknown substance in Manhattan on March 18, according to the NYPD.

It happened on Front Street around 10:23 a.m. Police said the suspect approached the 67-year-old victim, began to yell at him and then sprayed him.

The substance the victim was sprayed with is believed to be pepper spray, according to authorities.

The suspect was last seen fleeing northbound on Front Street. The victim was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital with pain and burning to his face, police said.

Police describe the suspect as being between 5'8" and 5'11". He was last seen wearing a black hat, red jacket with a black shirt underneath, blue jeans and blue and white sneakers.
