WOODLAWN, the Bronx (PIX11) --- The man sought for trying to rape a woman on a Bronx street last month was previously accused of other crimes, police said Tuesday.
Miguel Rivera, 45, was previously arrested on gun and robbery charges, according to the NYPD. The details of the cases, which are now closed, were not immediately available.
Rivera allegedly snuck up behind a 26-year-old woman and put her in a chokehold before dragging her to the ground near Vireo Avenue and East 235th Street in Woodlawn at around 1:30 a.m. on May 25, police said.
Rivera allegedly tried to rape the woman before taking off on a blue scooter, running, according to the NYPD. The suspect and victim did not know each other.
The woman suffered minor cuts during the attack and declined medical treatment.
Rivera remains at large, as of Tuesday.
