Man set on fire during fight in the Bronx: NYPD

MELROSE, The Bronx (PIX11) – A man was set on fire during a fight with another man in the Bronx late Thursday night, according to the NYPD.

The fight happened around 11:18 p.m. on East 159th Street in Melrose. One man allegedly threw rubbing alcohol on the 39-year-old victim and lit him on fire, according to authorities.

The suspect and victim know each other, police said. The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem with burns to his head and face, according to authorities.

The suspect is described as a 45-year-old man who is around 5'11".

Two other men suffered minor burns while trying to extinguish the victim, police said.
