Man punched, kicked, stabbed for breaking up fight in front of Bronx college: NYPD

BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – A man was stabbed in front of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx on Monday afternoon, according to police. 

A group of individuals were fighting in front of 3300 Kossuth Ave. at around 1:30 p.m. The victim, a 40-year-old man, was in front of the college when a fight broke out between a group of four men and another male. The victim attempted to intervene in the fight to break it up, officials said.

The four men became agitated that the victim was getting involved in the four-on-one battle, police said. While the men turned their attention to the victim who tried to break up the fight, the man who was the target of the four attackers ran away, according to police.

The group of men then chased the victim, police said. The attackers were able to throw him to the ground and then proceeded to punch, kick, and stab the victim multiple times in the back before running to parts unknown, police said. 

The victim was taken to North Central Bronx Hospital before he was transferred to Jacobi Medical Center. He is expected to survive his injuries, police said. 

The individuals being sought are described as four males. An investigation remains ongoing, officials stated.
