NEW YORK (PIX11) -- A man swimming in Queens was pulled in by the tide and ended up in waters off Sandy Hook, N.J., on Monday, according to officials.
Pete Ordane, 34, of New York City, told police he entered the water, most likely in the area of Breezy Point in Queens. Officials said he was pulled out by the tide and treading water for several hours until a commercial fisherman and his son spotted him in New Jersey waters around 9 a.m.
The fisherman and his son got Ordane aboard their boat and brought him to Port Monmouth. Officials said Ordane was healthy and did not want additional medical attention.
Dry clothes and transportation were provided to Ordane, officials said.
