BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A man was subway surfing when he was hit by a train in Brooklyn Tuesday, killing him, according to sources.

Sources said the man was seen on top of the train by witnesses near the Prospect Park station around 8 a.m. B and Q trains experienced service disruptions after the man was struck, according to the MTA.

Police have not released the man's identity.

The incident comes after another death last week, in which 14-year-old Alam Reyes was killed while subway surfing on top of a Coney Island-bound F train, according to authorities.

The death comes as New York lawmakers recently wrote to social media companies, asking them to remove videos of subway surfing online to deter the act. The MTA also launched an anti-subway surfing campaign, which includes public safety announcements, last September.

The NYPD also has special patrols of the J, Z and No. 7 lines in elevated sections of stations that focus on the time when school is let out.

The MTA told PIX11 News it has worked with all the major social media companies on this issue. The agency said it has stopped or removed more than 10,000 videos and photos of subway surfing so far.
