Man in wheelchair fatally struck by vehicle while crossing Brooklyn street: NYPD

BROWNSVILLE, Brooklyn (PIX11) -- A man in a wheelchair was fatally struck by a vehicle while he tried to cross the street in Brooklyn on Saturday, according to police.

The 63-year-old man in a wheelchair was crossing New Lots Avenue in Brownsville when he was hit by a Honda CRV driven by a man, 67, around 10 p.m., according to police.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to officials.

The 67-year-old driver of the vehicle stayed at the accident, and police said there was no criminality.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing.
