Man identified 3 years after fatal Brooklyn shooting: NYPD

BROOKLYN, N.Y. )PIX11) --- The death of a man who was killed in a car in Brooklyn three years ago has been deemed a homicide, authorities said Thursday.

Romel Jules, 24, was shot in the upper back while sitting in the passenger side of a Volkswagen Jetta near Nostrand Avenue and Montgomery Street in Crown Heights just before 1 a.m. on April 25, 2021, according to sources and then NYPD.

Jules was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved, police said.

The medical examiner's offices recently declared the incident a homicide and issued a death certificate, police said. The reason for the delay was unclear.

There have been no arrests. No other information was immediately available.
