Man gets five years of rigorous imprisonment in Pocso case

NASHIK: The court of district and sessions judge V S Malkalpatte–Reddy awarded five years of

rigorous imprisonment

to a 34-year-old man in connection to a case of

sexual assault

on two

minors

in the Mumbai Naka area of the city between January to April, 2022.
The convict is a resident of Panchavati.
According to the city police, the convict person had committed sexual assault on a 10-year-old girl and her eight-year-old brother between January 2022 to April 2022.

A complaint in this regard was registered with the Mumbai Naka police station under relevant sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The case was investigated by PSI C M Srivant of the Mumbai Naka police station.
Judge V S Malkalpatte – Reddy on Saturday found the accused guilty of the charges and awarded him five years of RI. He has also been slapped with a fine of Rs 12,000.
Adv Sulbha Sangle was the public prosecutor in the case.
