LAKEWOOD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (PIX11) – A man was found dead in the trunk of a vehicle in New Jersey Wednesday, authorities said.
The man's body was found in a vehicle parked in the area of Fairview Court in Lakewood Township around 12:15 p.m., according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
“This remains an active and ongoing investigation. There is no known danger to the public, and additional information will be released when it becomes available,” Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a statement.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Lakewood Township Police Department, Manchester Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit are investigating.
