Man fatally stabbed on No. 2 train in the Bronx: police

BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – A man was fatally stabbed on a No. 2 train in the Bronx on Saturday afternoon, police said. 

The incident occurred at 3:21 p.m. near the East 149th Street and Third Avenue subway station. Two men got into a fight on a northbound train, police said.

One of the men, a 36-year-old male, stabbed the other male, a 33-year-old, in the chest with an unknown object. EMS took the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The assailant was taken into police custody. No charges have been made, authorities said.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld and is pending family notification.
