WILLIAMSBURG, Brooklyn (PIX11) --- A suspect is accused of punching and killing a man during a fight on a Brooklyn street earlier this year, according to sources and police.
James Chung, 34, allegedly attacked Salvador Galindo-Diaz, 43, during an argument near Metropolitan and Scott avenues in Williamsburg just after midnight on Feb. 19, according to the NYPD. Galindo-Diaz was knocked to the ground and struck his head on the sidewalk, causing severe facial and brain injuries, sources said.
Authorities found the Long Island man unconscious before he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Galindo-Diaz died from his injuries on March 4, police said.
Chung, a Queens resident, was arrested and charged Thursday with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, reckless endangerment, and assault, police said.
Chung pleaded not guilty and was released without bail at his arraignment, according to court records. His attorney could not be reached Friday.
