Man charged after friend died during fight outside Brooklyn building: sources

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, Brooklyn (PIX1) --- A man is accused of killing his friend Sunday during an argument outside the Brooklyn building where the two lived, according to law enforcement sources.

Eduardo Martinez, 42, and the man, 30, were fighting when the victim suffered an unknown medical episode and collapsed on the sidewalk in front of 330 MacDougal St. in Bedfod-Stuyvesant at around 1:40 p.m., according to police and sources.

Authorities found the man unconscious and rushed him to the hospital, but he could not be saved, police said. The victim has not been identified.

Martinez and the victim lived in the apartment building, sources said. The nature of the fight was unclear.

Martinez was arrested Tuesday and charged with manslaughter, police said. His arraignment was pending Wednesday.
