Man attacked, beaten at Queens subway station: ‘He started hitting me with the pipe’

QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) – A man was beaten in the head with a metal pipe during an attack at a subway station in Queens this past weekend, police said.

The 31-year-old victim was attacked in the Queensboro Plaza subway station just before 1 a.m. Saturday, according to the NYPD. The victim said he never saw the attack coming.

“He started hitting me with the pipe,” the victim said. “I block one hit with my arm, then he started hitting me in my head. All I can do is cover myself. That’s it.”

The victim suffered cuts to his head and was hospitalized, authorities said.

The unidentified assailant fled after the attack and hasn’t been arrested, police said. The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect.
