Man arrested after Bath Beach double homicide, fire: NYPD

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) - One man was arrested related to a double homicide in Bath Beach that involved a shooting and flames, police said Monday. 

Alex Alive, 33, was charged with two counts of murder after two men were found dead in a burning Brooklyn building on Bay 29th Street on March 17, according to the NYPD.

One of the men was shot in the head and the other appeared to have died from smoke inhalation, according to the NYPD. The building caught fire Sunday and took 60 first responders to quell, according to the FDNY.

The fire appears to have been set on purpose, officials said.

Alive had not been charged with arson, police said Monday. Police said Alive has multiple prior arrests including assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
