Man allegedly maces NYPD officers after not paying at East Harlen subway station: police

EAST HARLEM, Manhattan (PIX11) – A man is accused of using mace on two police officers after he didn't pay at an East Harlem subway station on Wednesday, according to the NYPD.

The 57-year-old man allegedly went through emergency gates at the West 116th Street-Lexington Avenue subway station around 3:07 a.m., police said. Two uniformed officers approached the man, which is when they were allegedly both sprayed in the face with mace, according to authorities.

Manhunt underway for suspect after 2 people shot to death in Mount Vernon

The suspect was arrested, police said. Both officers were taken to an area hospital.

Charges against the man are pending, according to authorities.
