BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) --- A man is accused of threatening a family with a fake gun in the lobby of a Brooklyn building Tuesday night, according to police and surveillance videos.
William Little, 39, allegedly pointed the fake weapon at a 25-year-old man and a woman with a stroller entering the building at 1401 55th St. near 14th Avenue at around 7:50 p.m., according to the NYPD and video posted on X.
The man and woman then hurried out of the lobby without incident. There were no injuries.
"The gun was later found to be fake, but the experience left the family shaken," Boro Park Shmira posted on X.
Little barricaded himself in his apartment before he was taken into custody, according to Boro Park Shmira. Videos showed several officers escorting a handcuffed suspect out of the building as a huge crowd watched from the street.
Little was charged with criminal possession of a weapon- disguised gun, menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
Authorities said Little has 16 prior arrests for various offenses, including robbery, drugs, petit larceny, graffiti, and menacing.
His arraignment was pending Wednesday.
