BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with a string of arson fires in NYCHA developments, the FDNY announced Thursday.
Unique Cherry was charged with arson and criminal mischief, among other charges.
Cherry was identified as a suspect in a fire at 1430 Bergen Street in Brooklyn in January, officials say. He was eventually arrested on May 6.
During interrogation, Cherry confessed to the fire at Bergen Street, in addition to two other fire incidents, officials say.
The Brooklyn District Attorney's Office will prosecute the case.
