MURRAY HILL, Manhattan (PIX11) -- A man accused of stealing mail around Manhattan will be arraigned Thursday, the United States Attorney's Office announced.
Daniel Holmes is allegedly linked to eight mail thefts between February 7 and July 4, according to court documents.
In each incident, Holmes reportedly dressed as a postal worker, officials said. He also had a key suited to a lock adopted by the United States Postal Service.
Thefts happened at relay boxes throughout Murray Hill and buildings on East 27th and East 29th Streets, prosecutors said.
Surveillance footage gathered from nearby buildings of both the suspect and the vehicle used ultimately led to the identification of Holmes, officials said.
Holmes was also arrested two hours after a robbery at an apartment building on East 37th Street in Manhattan on July 4, according to court documents. Police found an arrow key and mail that was addressed to the residents of the building, including what appeared to be a pension check in his possession.
