SMITHTOWN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A man is accused of attacking an 89-year-old woman in a Long Island home, according to officials.
Christopher Loeb, 37, was charged with assault in connection with the incident on Jan. 12, officials said.
The woman told police she found Loeb in her kitchen breaking plates, chairs and a butcher's block stand, according to authorities. Loeb is accused of grabbing the woman and shoving her to the ground, according to officials. It's unclear why Loeb was inside the home.
The woman called 911 as Loeb continued to break items around the house, officials said. Loeb allegedly threw a metal plant stand at the woman's leg, fracturing the woman's femur, according to authorities.
Officers found the woman on the floor of her living room and Loeb pacing on the second floor, holding a broken table leg, officials said.
The woman was taken to a hospital in Smithtown to be treated for her injuries.
A judge ordered Loeb, of Smithtown, held on $75,000 cash or $150,000 bond. He's due back in court on Feb. 15.
