Man accused of fatally stabbing girlfriend in Queens bar

MASPETH, Queens (PIX11) --- A man is accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend before turning the knife on himself in a Queens bar Saturday evening, police said.

Marcin Pieciak, 36, allegedly stabbed Sarah McNally, 41, in the neck during a fight in Ceili House at 69-56 Grand Ave. in Maspeth at around 6:35 p.m., according to the NYPD. Pieciak then stabbed himself in the neck and back during the dispute, police said.

Both were rushed to the hospital in critical condition before McNally was pronounced dead, according to the NYPD. The defendant was still hospitalized.

McNally was a bartender at the pub and lived with Pieciak for one year, according to police and sources.

Pieciak was arrested and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, authorities said. He was scheduled to be arraigned in the hospital on Tuesday.
