Man accused of fatally stabbing Bronx woman in 2005

THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) --- A man is accused of stabbing a former lover to death in her Bronx apartment nearly 20 years ago, police said Thursday.

James Devore, 54, of Ohio, was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder in the killing of Erica Robinson, 28, on Nov. 23, 2005, according to the NYPD.

Authorities said Devore and Robinson were in a relationship and had a fight before Devore allegedly stabbed Robinson with a knife in the chest in her apartment on 1246 Grand Ave. at around 7:15 a.m.

Cops found the woman unconscious with a stab wound to the chest, police said. She died at the scene.

It was not immediately clear how the investigation led to Devore's arrest.
