Man accused of assaulting nurse at Long Island hospital: police

OCEANSIDE, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A Long Beach man accused of assaulting a nurse at a hospital on Saturday has been arrested, authorities said.

The attack happened at Mount Sinai Suth Hospital at 9:30 p.m. when the suspect, 53-year-old Omid Zar, allegedly hit a nurse several times in the stomach, authorities said. Zar was arrested shortly after, authorities report.

It is unclear if Zar was a patient at the hospital.

The suspect was charged with second-degree assault and will be arraigned on Monday, officials said.
