Man, 79, critically injured after being kicked in the face, falling in Brooklyn: NYPD

NEW YORK (PIX11) – A 79-year-old man was critically injured after being attacked in Brooklyn on Monday, according to the NYPD.

The attack happened on Flatbush Avenue in Prospect Lefferts Gardens around 10:53 p.m. The victim was walking on the sidewalk when a man approached him and kicked him in the face, according to authorities.

The victim then fell to the ground and lost consciousness. The suspect fled the scene on foot, police said.

The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County in critical condition.
