Man, 77, hit with metal scooter on Brooklyn street: NYPD

BUSHWICK, Brooklyn (PIX11) --- A suspect hit a 77-year-old man with a metal scooter during a racially-motivated fight in Brooklyn earlier this month, police said Thursday.

The suspect attacked the victim near 25 Melrose St. in Bushwick at around 2:15 p.m. on June 3. The Hispanic man was struck in the face with the scooter and taken to the hospital with a facial cut, bruising, and swelling, police said.

It's unclear what sparked the argument but racial slurs were hurled during the incident, according to the NYPD.

The suspect ran off after the attack. There have been no arrests.
