Man, 70, pepper-sprayed in the face inside Manhattan church: NYPD

MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) --- Police are searching for a suspect who pepper-sprayed a 70-year-old man in the face in a Manhattan church last month, police said Wednesday.

The incident happened at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church at 22 Barclay St. Downtown at around 12:20 p.m. on Dec. 17, 2023, according to the NYPD. The man went into the church and assaulted the victim when he tried to stop him, police said.

The suspect then ran off and was last seen heading eastbound on Barclay Street, police said.

The victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention.

There have been no arrests.
