CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (PIX11) -- A gorgeous, after-dark illuminated spectacular is back in Brooklyn.

Lightscape at Brooklyn Botanic Garden has wowed both Brooklynites and tourists since 2021. It's now opening again for the season.

With the flip of the switch, one million LED lights were illuminated in this otherworldly nighttime journey through 16 installations at Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Lightscape.

The Winter Reflections are awe-inspiring, as are the 20 fountains in Enchanted Waters.

New this year is Singularity, 6,000 lights in a sphere that's 26 feet in diameter. And there are 400 new cascading lights on the mile-long trek.

“We’ve got magic and romance here,” said Adrian Benepe, the president and CEO of Brooklyn Botanic Garden. “It’s a great place for people to fall in love. There are so many proposals at the Winter Cathedral. It’s a great date night."

For the electeds who attended on opening night, many said they are making Lightscape a family tradition.

“It’s just magical and it makes me feel like a child again,” said India Williams, the wife of New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams. "It is wonderful in these times, so I am grateful."

“To come here and enjoy nature,” said Jumaane Williams, "it’s going to be our family tradition. It’s our second year."

Laurie Cumbo, New York City's commissioner of Cultural Affairs, brought her 7-year-old son Prince, who said he liked "everything."

“It gives me a happy, joyful feeling,” Cumbo added.

There is also now a Lightscape Lodge open at night.

Three generations of a family came to celebrate a birthday on opening night.

“Every year I would see the ads and this year it’s my birthday, so I came,” said Kenecia Blackette, who was with her aunt and 5-year-old daughter.

Lightscape is open until Jan. 5, 2025.
