NEW JERSEY (PIX11) -- The lost pup who boarded a New Jersey Transit train last week has been reunited with its owner, authorities said Sunday.

The dog followed an “unrelated commuter” at 7:52 a.m. Thursday and stayed on the train until Hoboken Terminal, officials said.

Animal Control had taken the dog and brought him to the Humane Society in Jersey City. They named him Obi.

Once word spread about the cute pup, officials were able to find the dog's owner and thanked the community for its efforts.

"The dog is reunited with the owner. We previously asked you to share our lost dog post. Many of you shared it abroad. You helped to spread the word and return the dog home! This is what community and teamwork is all about! Thank you!" the New Jersey Transit Police Department posted on X.
