NEW YORK (PIX11) -- New Jersey Transit has had its fair share of animal commuters, from train-stopping Ricardo the bull to now, a lost dog.

The dog boarded an NJ Transit train Thursday morning at Mountain Station, authorities said. The dog followed an "unrelated commuter" at 7:52 a.m. and stayed on the train until Hoboken Terminal.

NJ Transit officials have not yet located the dog's owner, and he doesn't have a microchip, authorities said. Animal Control took possession of the dog and brought him to the Humane Society in Jersey City.

Anyone with information about the owner is asked to contact the Central Communications Center at 1-800-242-0236 or 973-378-6565.
