TIRUPATI:

Lord Venkateswara

- The richest Hindu god in the country went through the

books of accounts

of the previous year presented to him by the officials on the eve of the ''

Anivara Asthanam

'' annual festival celebrated utmost spiritual fervour at the

Tirumala

temple on Tuesday.
This festival is one among the 450 odd important festivals celebrated at the

In connection with the ''Balancing of books festival'', a series of special rituals were held inside the Tirumala temple followed by the ''Asthanam'' (a court) held at the ''Garudazhwar Sannidhi'' inside the sanctum sanctorum in the early hours on Tuesday.
As part of the tradition, TTD authorities ceremoniously presented the books of accounts pertaining to the previous year at the divine feet of the Lord for his approval and later opened new books of accounts for the new fiscal.

Tirumala Pedda Jeeyar Swami accompanied by priests and officials from the Srirangam temple in Tamil Nadu carried a set of Pattu vastrams and other gifts and presented them to Lord Venkateswara inside the Tirumala temple as part of the customary practice earlier in the day.
Later in the evening, Lord Malayappa swamy and his two divine consorts goddess Sridevi and Bhudevi were carried out in a colourful procession on an exquisitely decorated floral palanquin as part of the 'Pushpa Pallaki''' seva held at Tirumala.
Tens of thousands of devotees took part in the annual festival.
