, showcased his elation following his team's impressive 28-run triumph over
Royal Challengers Bengaluru
(RCB) at the M. Chinnnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday.
Mayank, whose fiery three-wicket haul decimated the RCB top order, took to Instagram with a heartwarming post, captioned "Look mom I can fly", reflecting his joy and satisfaction with his performance.
Within just two matches, Mayank has garnered widespread acclaim for his consistent pace, consistently touching speeds of 150 kmph-plus.
Against RCB, the 21-year-old prodigy claimed three wickets in his four-over spell, conceding only 14 runs, earning him the prestigious 'Player of the Match' accolade.
Notably, Mayank scripted history by becoming the first bowler in IPL history to clinch the 'Player of the Match' award in his first two matches.
Clocking an astounding 156.7 kmph during the encounter against RCB, Mayank surpassed his own record set during his debut match, where he clocked 155.8 kmph against Punjab Kings. His control over line and length, coupled with his intimidating pace, has earmarked him as the next big Indian pace prospect.
Furthermore, Mayank's consecutive three-wicket hauls in his debut IPL matches have propelled him into an elite list of players, alongside the likes of Lasith Malinga, Amit Singh, Mayank Markande, and Jofra Archer. His remarkable performance against RCB further solidified his reputation as a potent bowling force in the IPL.
In the match itself, LSG opted to bat first after winning the toss, with openers Quinton de Kock and skipper KL Rahul laying a solid foundation. Despite RCB's efforts to contain the batting lineup, Nicholas Pooran's explosive finish propelled LSG to a competitive total of 181/5.
