ELMONT, N.Y. (PIX11) — Three years after she was left permanently disfigured in an acid attack, a Long Island woman continues to make progress, even while the investigation is stalled.

Sunday will mark three years since the vicious attack when someone threw acid in Nafiah Ikram's face outside her home in Elmont.

On Friday, the 24-year-old spoke about her recovery and future. The attack left her disfigured and blind in one eye. Ikram said the emotional healing has been difficult, but she finds comfort in a sense of universal justice.

"I try to find peace in knowing that karma is karma," Ikram said.

Police still have no suspects or a motive for the violent attack. There is a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

"This investigation continues to remain open and ongoing as we will not rest until the person(s) responsible are apprehended," Nassau County Commissioner of Police Patrick Ryder said in a statement.

Anyone with information or leads in the case is asked by police to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All tips will remain anonymous.
