India's T20 World Cup Squad: The Board of Control for Cricket in India is set for the all-important meeting of its selection committee that will pick the national squad for the 2024 men's T20 World Cup to be jointly hosted by the USA and West Indies from June 2 to 29. The wicketkeeper-batsman slot is expected to draw the most attention, with multiple names making claim through their performances in the ongoing Indian Premier League, with the primary contenders being Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and Sanju Samson. The squad, as announced earlier by Jay Shah, will be led by Rohit Sharma.

The national selection committee, headed by Ajit Agarkar, will convene in Ahmedabad on Tuesday to meet with BCCI secretary Jay Shah. The purpose of this meeting is to finalize the 15-member squad for the ICC T20 World Cup in the Americas, although the official announcement may be delayed by a day. Shah, who also serves as the convenor of the senior selection committee (men), has prior political commitments that are keeping him occupied. Therefore, the selection meeting will be held in Ahmedabad to accommodate his schedule. Key discussion points during the meeting will include deciding on the second wicketkeeper's slot and assessing the inclusion of all-rounder Hardik Pandya in the squad.
As per updates filtering in since late yesterday evening, BCCI is expected to convene a selection committee meeting in Ahmedabad today.
