NEW JERSEY (PIX11) – Monday’s holiday brought with it stormy skies and wet weather, forcing multiple New Jersey Memorial Day parades to cancel.
Rain and thunderstorms are expected in New York and New Jersey Monday, with temperatures in the high 60s and low 70s. Rain is expected to pick up during the evening, getting more intense after 4 p.m.
Here's a list of New Jersey Memorial Day Parades that have been cancelled:
- Creskill Memorial Day Parade. In its place, a smaller ceremony was scheduled for 10 a.m. at the American Legion on Legion Drive
- Cranbury Memorial Day parade, originally scheduled for 2 p.m., due to “impending severe weather”
- Hawthorne Memorial Day parade. A service will be held at Borough Hall at 12 p.m.
- East Orange Memorial Day parade.
- Norwood Memorial Day parade will be on an abbreviated route, starting at Norwood Public School and ending at Kennedy Field.
- Scotch Plains-Fanwood Memorial Day parade.
- Wyckoff Memorial Day Parade.
- West Caldwell Memorial Day parade. A ceremony still held at West Caldwell Fire House at 10 a.m.
- Verona Memorial Day parade. Ceremony still held at Town Hall.
- Wayne Township Memorial Day parade.
- Somerdale Memorial Day parade. Service will still be held at 10 Kennedy Blvd. at 11 a.m.
- Phillipsburg Memorial Day parade.
