Lindsay Lohan
, the actress famous for her role as Cady in the original 2004 "
Mean Girls
" movie, is expressing disappointment over a new
joke
in the recent film that seems to reference a hurtful comment made about her almost two decades ago. The new Paramount movie, which dominated the box office recently, features Megan Thee Stallion making a cameo and saying, "Y2K fire crotch is back," as a supportive remark to Cady Heron, played by Angourie Rice.
The line seems to allude to a TMZ video from 2006, where oil heir Brandon Davis insulted Lohan, referring to her as a "fire crotch." Lohan's publicist, Leslie Sloane, conveyed the actress' feelings, stating, "Lindsay was very hurt and
disappointed
by the reference in the film."
Lohan reprised her role with a cameo in the new film, which is based on the Broadway musical adaptation of "Mean Girls." Directed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr.
from a script by Tina Fey, who also wrote the original 2004 movie, the new installment has become a box office success.
The Hollywood Reporter has sought comments from Paramount and Tina Fey's
representative
regarding Lohan's reaction, but there has been no response at the time of reporting.
The cast of the new "Mean Girls" movie features Reneé Rapp, Auliʻi Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey, Avantika, Bebe Wood, Christopher Briney, Jenna Fischer, Busy Philipps, and Jon Hamm. Notably, Tina Fey and Tim Meadows reprise their roles from the 2004 film as a math teacher and the principal of North Shore High School, respectively.
As the new "Mean Girls" film gains popularity, Lindsay Lohan's disappointment with the reference sheds light on the impact of past controversies and the sensitivity of certain remarks. Fans await responses from the movie creators and hope for a resolution to the situation.
