Law enforcement take down ghost gun trafficking operation in Queens: AG

QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Five individuals were arrested on a 625-count indictment in connection to a gun trafficking operation based in Queens, according to New York Attorney General Letitia James.

Law enforcement seized 86 firearms, including 55 ghost guns and 25 assault weapons, officials said.

The five suspects facing charges are:

  • Hargeny Fernandez-Gonzalez, 20, of Richmond Hill, NY
  • Satveer Saini, 20, of East Elmhurst, NY
  • Adam Youssef Senhaji-Rivas, 20, of Astoria, NY
  • Milanjit Sidhu, 20, of Greenwood, IN
  • Mateo Castro-Agudelo, 21, of Long Island City, NY

The ghost guns were assembled in Nassau County and the serialized firearms were purchased in Indiana, officials said. The suspects allegedly transported the weapons and sold and stored them in Queens.

A joint investigation involving the Organized Crime Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations New York, and the NYPD was launched in 2023. Investigations included controlled purchases, covert video surveillance, and social media monitoring.

In addition to trafficking the firearms, Saini allegedly sold them in Queens, including at the Louis C. Moser Playground in Jackson Heights and in the parking lot of the Queens Center Mall in Elmhurst, officials said.

Castro-Agudelo and Fernandez-Gonzalez allegedly stored numerous weapons and high-capacity magazines inside a garage in Elmhurst, officials said. Castro-Agudelo also allegedly posted pictures of the guns on social media accounts.

The defendants face multiple firearm felonies and could face a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison if convicted.
