The
deadline
for getting the
Fastag KYC
completed ends today (February 29). As per the National Highways Authority of India (
NHAI
) and RBI guidelines, failing to do so will result in the deactivation of Fastag.
The mandate comes as a part of the new ‘
One Vehicle, One Fastag
’ initiative to make the toll collection process seamless at toll plazas and deter the misuse of Fastags.
However, if you haven’t done the Fastag KYC or not sure whether your Fastag has KYC or not, here’s how you can check it and also get it done.
KYC process for NHAI issued Fastags
- Go to the "My Profile" page on the IHMCL customer portal.
- Locate and click on the 'KYC' subsection.
- Within the 'KYC' section, choose your "Customer Type" from the available options.
- Complete the essential fields by providing the necessary ID Proof and Address Proof documents.
- Upload a passport-size photo as per the specified requirements.
- Under the Address Proof section, provide the required address details.
- Confirm the authenticity of the documents submitted.
- Initiate the KYC verification process by following the on-screen instructions.
To check and update your Fastag KYC status, navigate to the relevant section on the IHMCL customer portal.
KYC process for Fastags issued by banks and other financial institutions
The above-mentioned process works only for NHAI-issued Fastags. For Fastags issued by banks and other financial institutions, you’ll need to connect with the dedicated customer care service provided by the particular issuer.
To find the customer support number for your Fastag issued, simply head to their respective website and then find the customer care number dedicated for Fastag support.
If you are not sure of your Fastag’s service provider, then look on the Fastag, you’ll find a phone number mentioned at the bottom of it. That’s the customer care number of your Fastag provider. Call them and follow the process to get the KYC done for your Fastag.
