KFC to give out 'chizza' for free at NYC pop-up 'chizzeria'

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Chicken is normally a topping for pizza, but what if it was the bottom?

KFC announced it will be celebrating the launch of its new menu item, a "chizza," with a pop-up "chizzeria" at one of its New York City restaurants from Feb. 23 to Feb. 24. Fans will be able to try the chizza, consisting of two crispy filets topped with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese and pepperoni, for free.

Those who attend the pop-up will also be able to get limited-edition chizzeria merchandise if they sign up for KFC Rewards.

The chizzeria can be found at 242 East 14th St., with the pop-up being held from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Chizzas will be available nationwide starting Feb. 26, according to KFC.
