Kerala government honours 'All We Imagine As Light' actors for Cannes win

The Kerala government honoured the Malayalam actors who was part of Payal Kapadia's 'All We Imagine As Light'. The film won the Grand Prix award at Cannes Film Festival 2024.

The Kerala government, on June 13, honoured actors Kanu Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Hridhu Haroon and Aziz Nedumangad of 'All We Imagine As Light' cast. The film won the prestigious Grand Prix award at the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival 2024. Directed by Payal Kapadia, the film received rave reviews and a standing ovation during the screening at Cannes 2024.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan shared a photo with the cast of 'All We Imagine as Light' on his X (formerly Twitter) page.

He wrote, "Honoured the four Malayali actors Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Azees Nedumangad & Hridhu Haroon who played main roles in the Grand Prix-winning film ‘All We Imagine as Light’ at @Festival_Cannes. Also, congratulated others who made Indian cinema proud at Cannes. In the wake of the Kuwait tragedy, the ceremony was held without any festivities. Wishing all the artists greater success in future (sic)."

Also, lensman Santosh Sivan, who won the Pierre Angenieux ExcelLens in Cinematography Award, was honoured by the government.

On May 25, director Payal Kapadia won the Grand Prix award for her film, 'All We Imagine As Light'. It became the first Indian film to feature in the Cannes' main segment in 30 years.

'All We Imagine As Light' revolves around the lives of two nurses from Kerala who are colleagues and roommates. The two are going through struggles in their respective lives. However, their lives change when they take a trip to a coastal town.
