NEW DELHI: After suffering terrible injuries in a vehicle accident in 2022, top wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was cleared to play in the Indian Premier League beginning this month.
After missing the previous season,

Pant

is expected to rejoin the Delhi Capitals. He may also represent India in the June

T20 World Cup

in the United States and the West Indies.
"After undergoing an extensive 14-month rehab and recovery process, following a life-threatening road mishap...

Rishabh Pant

has now been declared fit," the

Board of Control for Cricket in India

(

BCCI

) said in a statement on Tuesday.
Following the BCCI announcement, the 26-year-old posted a picture of himself on Instagram with the caption: "Keep smiling."

Pant had crashed his Mercedes SUV while going to Dehradun from Delhi before dawn in December 2022, suffering multiple injuries when the car rammed into a crash barrier, flipped over and caught fire.
He was rushed to hospital before being airlifted to Mumbai for further treatment and surgery.
After surviving the collision, Pant has been undergoing a rigorous rehabilitation program. He also has abrasions on his back, a broken right knee ligament, and injuries to his wrist and ankle.
Australian

David Warner

took over as the Delhi Capitals' captain last year as Pant missed IPL 2023.
