Karan Johar

did not hold back when he spilled the beans about dealing with 'delusional' actors who demand too much money for films. In his recent interview, the director opened up about how paychecks differ from actor to actor and how he often has to deal with '

fragile egos

and insecure minds'.
While acknowledging that certain stars bring value to the project, KJo revealed that there are others, who are quite delusional.

He discussed the difficulty of being unable to meet the

financial demands

of certain actors and emphasized the importance of engaging in honest conversations with them regarding their value in the industry.
Karan attributed his interpersonal skills to his late father, Yash Johar, who often stated, "People need people." He viewed this lesson as 'essential' in the film business, underscoring that success is fundamentally rooted in interpersonal connections.
Johar also revealed that he has to often take a step back in cases where he felt that certain actors were too expensive for the film. "Maybe they are not realising it, but we know our business – overpaying or underpaying, both are sins that we commit,” he asserted.

KJo further revealed how he wants to pay actors based on their 'market value', and did not hold back on his views on some 'delusional' stars. He remarked, "Delusion is a disease with no vaccination."
He further went on to add that it is detrimental and counterproductive if one doesn’t make the delusional ones aware of the situation. He revealed that in such cases, one has to tell the actor that they can be paid a certain number, based on their trajectory, films, and how much their last couple of films earned at the box office.

"You have to tell them that, tell it politely, tell it nicely, but definitely say it," he said.
